COVID-19 Discretionary Fund
The Shetland Islands COVID-19 Discretionary Fund aims to provide a one-off £2,000 grant to Shetland businesses experiencing immediate financial challenges from COVID-19 restrictions and regulations. The fund is aimed specifically at businesses that have been without financial support since October 2020 following the adoption of Scotland’s Strategic Framework.
This Fund will aim to support:
• businesses that supply goods or services to those who have been closed or restricted under COVID-19 protection measures;
• businesses that are facing hardship as a consequence of the current restrictions, but are not eligible for support schemes introduced since October 2020;
• businesses who do not have premises which are registered for non-domestic rates, and are therefore ineligible for grants attached to the rates system. More
NatureScot’s Better Places Fund Round 2
More seasonal rangers, temporary toilets, car parking and campervan facilities will help rural areas to welcome back visitors when coronavirus restrictions are eased.
The work – supported by £2.75 million to be administered through the NatureScot Better Places Fund – comes after countryside hotspots saw a marked increase in tourists last year, resulting in issues such as a lack of services, littering and antisocial behaviour.
Local authorities and community organisations can apply for grants of up to £75,000 per site, which will be administered through NatureScot’s Better Places Fund Round 2
