Wishart meets with Loganair following recent ground-handling and customer service concerns
Scottish Liberal Democrat and Shetland MSP Beatrice Wishart met today (Tuesday 28th October) with senior representatives of Loganair in Holyrood following ground-handling and customer service issues that arose after weather disrupted the flight from Edinburgh via Kirkwall to Sumburgh on Friday evening. It coincided with the end of the October break.
Ms Wishart welcomed Loganair’s apology to customers and the company’s willingness to learn from what went wrong.
Loganair management and Ms Wishart were in contact over the weekend and met with airline representatives today to discuss the concerns raised by the constituents.
Following the meeting, Ms Wishart said:
“Passengers will recognise that safety is paramount and weather disruption, though inconvenient, is usually understood.
“Passengers also expect to be looked after properly by both the airline and their ground-handling agents when things do not go to plan.
“Loganair recognise that the customer service at the weekend was below an acceptable level and are taking steps to learn how to avoid such incidents in the future. At the meeting today, senior management understood that they and their ground-handlers, Menzies Aviation, must take action to prevent a recurrence of last Friday’s situation.”
