Wishart responds to Shetland hosting Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust

Responding to the news that Shetland will host Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust from Tuesday 20^th June to Thursday 22^nd June for Cervical Screening Awareness Week, Ms Wishart said:

“It is good news that Shetland will play host to Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. The charity does incredible work raising awareness of cervical cancer and highlighting the importance of screenings.

“While Shetland has the highest screening coverage of NHS health boards there has been a decline in screening attendance since the pandemic and this needs to be addressed. The NHS is open and operating ready for use where needed.

“I urge anyone to attend a screening when asked.”
